Police Scotland Activity - Dementia Action Week & Herbert Protocol |
Kinross based community officers, PC’s Samson and Duncan, from South Perthshire Community Policing Team, were out and about last week, raising awareness of the Herbert Protocol, as part of Dementia Action Week.
The Herbert Protocol is a UK wide recognised scheme that focuses on people living with dementia who may be at risk of going missing. The main aim is for the Herbert Protocol form to be completed in advance so that significant information is recorded and readily available for Police in the event of someone going missing.
The officers held numerous targeted visits at local establishments including sheltered housing, care homes, retirement cafés as well as holding public drop ins. The sessions were well attended and officers handed out the forms as well as leaflets about The Herbert Protocol.
